    Good & Some suggestions
Why not allow user to select all and delete words? Also why don't u support exporting shortcuts of the dictionary ?
  • Harsh Mandan
Will not work on 6.0.1 and voting will not help as google as already confirmed that they intend to keep it this way
  • David Klement
    Very good
This app is very helpful for people who need to somehow alternate dictionary they're using (e.g. I dont want to write with accents in Czech so I've parsed IRC logs and some corpora, stripped it of the accents and loaded into the phone with this app). The only thing I was wondering about is wheter it's possible to add words only for a certain language. If yes, would be awesome if this app would implement it.
  • Lord Childe
Get rid of 'eng-US' as 'current language'... we're not all US citizens, and we don't all use American English.
  • Ronak Chopra
I love the app but it would be even better if I could delete multiple words from my personal dictionary!

    Useful as stated
  • Jaclyn Marie Netzel
Not quite sure how it works yet, though
  • Nipurn Gupta
    Does what it says

    Simply Super App
  • Mark Ifi
The developer - Adrian - is very helpful, he implemented a change needed for my configuration(custom language name). This tool does the job.(if the job is importing a wordlist to Google Keyboard dictionary)
  • Abhijeet Adhikary
I am not understanding how to use this app to store words in external file...

Can access user dictionary as read only
I have the SCH-i435 and i guess it's running marshmallow os. A msg keeps popping up saying this app can't access the dictionary. The Developer pointed out that Google stopped allowing users to access their user dictionary on Android. However, you can access the dictionary from this app for the purpose of reading what words are in your Android user dictionary.

    Great but slow.
It took over 50 minutes to import 40k words, and my phone aren't even hot. I wonder if you can add "aggressive" mode option to use all of my phone processing power, maybe it will make the importing process faster. Otherwise it's a really gooood application.
  • Kwabena Yeboah
Nice, simple, easy and also help type faster.
  • Shahmi Saidi
After a year, finally my request is added into the app :)

    User dictionary
Excellent app. Now I don't have train the dictionary every time I reset the phone. Best thing is, I have exported it to Google drive, and now it is available for my other android phones too..

    works with hacker's keyboard 1.37
adds suggestions to hacker's keyboard. using 4.4.2 on samsung tab 3 (which means no user dictionary access _at all_, no holding a word menu, settings only has 'learn from gmail' or 'learn from messages' and that doesn't work either). here even email addresses can be added. no strings of words with spaces, though. export/import from .txt file. nice thanks!
  • Remus Chirila
    Super. Work as expected.
  • Cornelius Mostert
    I love it

    Best ever UDM!
But I don't understand why Google won't let it access User Dictionary in later Android version! Google starts not listening its users needs!
  • Ravenclaw Avenger
I wanted to give UDM a five star rating
however, by default it is hard coded to install a dictionary that is a dialect of Spanish and only part of the a's as it runs out of space. However it can be tweaked to create a text file "wordlist.txt" from the user dictionary. To do this export your user dictionary with the app. Now on another device or after a factory data reset import can be used to get the user dictionary from "wordlist.txt". UDM does not create user dictionaries. It saves them and imports them back. The dictionary is created one word at a time and saved by exporting. It works for the stock keyboard, Google keyboard, Jelly Bean 4.3 keyboard and Hacker's Keyboard. Smart keyboard Pro creates its own user dictionary as do a number of other third party keyboards.

    Can't recommend this enough
I use Google keyboard in development mode so it learn you and keep on adding words, not to mention the words you add yourself. I really love Google keyboard. The only big downside of Google keyboard in my opinion is that it won't sync to cloud 95%of the time. This simple yet most valuable app help you save the dictionary file. I flash roms, so this is a must have for me, but either way I recommend this! Add a donate version with a periodic save and count me in.

    Marshmallow nag screen
OK it is unfortunate Google is blocking udm access to the user dictionary on that os, hopefully that changes but do we really need to be spammed with that message every time we want to edit the dictionary? It's a bit excessive when you don't give us a checkbox option to not "show this again". Furthermore the link provided in the message is broken and redirects to a forbidden page.
  • Jeff Altorfer
Really works well and gives you access to the now frequently hidden user dictionary
Works exactly as advertised, on my SamSung SPH-L900 running 4.4.2.

    Keyboard lifesaver for ROM flasher
Very very good app for frequent ROM flasher like me. It's perfect features rich app , in short keyboard lifesaver. Thanks. But one issue is that it restores to default stock keyboard only not to third party keyboard. Please fix it for five star.
  • Jason Skinner
Only fix for Google Keyboard crash
I've had a bug with Google Keyboard for years that where trying to edit the custom dictionary causes the entire settings app to crash. This app provides a way to edit the dictionary directly. (Note: The settings app still crashes if I go through Google keyboard's preferences, but now I no longer need to).

    Great!!!!! Really awesome
In my HTC One M8 .. I wasn't able to delete the incorrect words which was saved in my user dictionary.. for some reason I couldn't clear the data through app manager .. my phone won't allow me to access it which was really bugging me for a while . But after I installed this app.. voila all of those b those incorrect saved words cleared in ago plus a better editor for my user dictionary

Saves the built-in User Dictionary Only
Although somewhat cumbersome to use this app will give a backup of the user dictionary if you are running Lollipop or lower. Be sure to archive and restore to/from local files. This app only works with the built-in dictionary. Many third party keyboards have their own user dictionaries. This app cannot save information for these dictionaries. Needs upgrade for Marshmallow.

    Just what I needed
