    Thank you!
I don't usually review, but I just wanted to say thanks- couldn't find some pictures, ran and then they were there! Thanks a bunch :) HTC inspire

Comment below: we rate apps based on how well they do what they set out to do obviously... NOT on what we WISH THEY DID, genius. 5 easy stars!

    Preparing..., but it does work!
Running CM10 4.1.2 on Samsung S2x and the program appears to get stuck on "Preparing...". However if you wait a few minutes, eventually the app will finish and the gallery thumbnails, mp3s, etc will be indexed. Edit: after rebooting the phone, the "Scanning SD card..." screen shows properly!

Works w/ Jelly Bean and HTC Incredible
After flashing a new Android operating system, the Jelly Bean ROM, the system app "Gallery" did not see any of my pre-existing photos. I did a Google search for a similar problem and someone recommended SDrescan. It worked. Took about 2 minutes to rescan the whole SD card and all my previous folders and photos were back and now recognized by Gallery.

This app is simply amazing! Too bad I don't need it since I rooted my phone and it does it automatically.

    Rooted note 3 x note v5.1
When I rooted my device my old photos & some downloaded mp3's/ringtones would not show up on my device. I could view/listen to them through the file manager, but for some reason the device would not repopulate them in the photo gallery/music player. Sdrescan fixed that issue. My Photo gallery is now repopulated with my missing photos, and I can now listen to my missing music/ringtones without going into file manager. Definitely would recommend this app.

Great application, comes in very handy! But please change that nasty icon!! The days of huge square boxes for icons have thankfully gone, gw tho.

Awesome app. Does exactly what it says on the tin. My gallery not refreshing has been driving me to despair until I used this!

Music disappeared from my galaxy nexus while I was in roaming and without Internet connectivity. It didn't come back until I found this app. Thanks!

Had to delete a thumbnail for music files and I thought I deleted all my music and photo files which didn't show, now everything is back to normal with this brilliant App... Thank you.

Fixed a very annoying problem on my Droid after 2.1 was installed. Not sure why Droid wouldn't do this automatically.

    Worked perfectly
I could not see music which I added straight from a USB drive to my phone using an OTG cable but then I ran this and now my music app can see it. This worked even after two restarts did not.

This app saved my htc music app as it wasn't able to see the music on my sd card for some reason. Worth downloading and I recommend it to everyone to use when apps just don't see the files on your sd card.

    I was freakin out...
About my missing pics I thought were deleted. Couple seconds to d/l and run this app. They're back :) awesome!

    Very nice utility
Having issues with pictures showing up in gallery. Don't know why or what's wrong. BUT this app provides the fix! Well done. Any other utilities or functions this can do? Again 5 stars.

Nice, but wish I could choose folders
When I plug my gnex into my PC, it doesn't show new files sometimes. This app fixes that problem. I would like to narrow down the folders it scans just to speed things up, so hopefully the dev adds some options like this.

    Fixed my problem!
The gallery was only displaying the newest photos, with one run of this program it was fixed!

Love it but hate my problem
I love this app but i hate that my phone is having trouble with rescanning the SD Card almost everytime i download something new to it. Today, i looked in my gallery and saw no Pictures nor Videos because of recently downloading 1 video. I ran this app and after several minutes of it scanning (like 3 to 6 minutes because there's a lot to scan on my SD Card lol), i saw all of my Pictures and Videos back in my Gallery again. It works for me so i love it! It's small and simple and doesn't take up much space!

    To the morons..
I use the Rescan Media app, but this one does it's job well too. Only idiots rate a simple app poorly for being too stupid to figure out how to use it

    Does what it says
It's unfortunate that this app is even sometimes necessary. Gallery should always immediately pick up on new media, especially since it takes an extra few seconds for it to load up files anyway.

    Be patient if on 4.2.1
The gallery in both Jelly Beans is crap. It doesn't update until you restart the phone. This didn't help at first but now its working after a day of use. Clear your recent apps before you run this and it will work.

I have a Chinese book app, and I downloaded some Chinese book files. After connecting my Nexus 7 to my PC, I open the "book" folder to back up, but the book files are no where to be found. I have 2 android devices, and the other one does not have the same problem. After trying for hours, I finally followed a recommendation that I have seen in one of the forum and downloaded this โ€œSDrescanโ€ app. WOW, in 2 seconds, THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED!!!

Saved me from doing a restore
I was having issues with my HTC nexus one running cyanogenmod 7, it stopped recognizing my music, ringtones and notifications, but i could see everything was still there with root explorer, I deleted everything on the flash and re copy but same deal, goggling around i found some people suggested this program so I gave it a try, it runs for about 2 minutes scanning every folder on the SD card after it finished everything is working great, the music app can see all the music and playlist again and the notifications and ringtones are working !!

Does what it says on the tin
Gallery app is now finally updated with the pictures I copied to my SD card last month... although the question remains why we need an App to force this to happen rather than Android doing it by itself... even the Refresh option in the Gallery itself didn't work. Anyway, this does exactly what it's meant to do, great little utility app.

Just what I needed. Reese if you need to move a 16kb app to sd you have issues.
